Transforming how property data is accessed and shared
Next Gen NLIS is a new, independent platform being built to transform how authoritative land and property data is accessed and shared across England and Wales. Launching in March 2027, Next Gen NLIS will connect local authorities and other data custodians to search providers through a secure, scalable Trust Framework infrastructure.

Building on the foundations of the National Land Information Service (NLIS), the platform will connect local authorities, search providers and conveyancers through a modern, secure and scalable infrastructure.
A Modern Platform for Official Searches
Next Gen NLIS will provide a single digital gateway for accessing official search information, including Local Land Charges and CON29 data. The platform will operate as a Trust Framework, a set of agreed rules, standards and governance that ensures all participants can exchange data securely, consistently and with confidence.
