Winners in 12th Annual Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence Announced!
Local Land Charges Officers who carry out land and property searches required for conveyancing transactions, were honoured at the 12th Land Data Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence gala dinner, hosted by comedian Jo Caulfield.
The national awards recognise the work and achievements of local authority Local Land Charges departments in England and Wales. Over 200 entries and nominations were submitted by solicitors, licensed conveyances, customer services experts and Local Land Charges Personnel.
The Awards which are sponsored by the Local Land Charges Institute, SearchFlow, Coal Authority, Land Data and the National Land Information Service (NLIS), cover eight categories recognising customer satisfaction, best customer experience, most improved NLIS service, best NLIS Local Land Charges department, the Unsung Hero, the Digital Data Award and the Local Authority searches team of the year.
A winner and a highly commended for each category were chosen by a panel of judges from Land Data, the Local Land Charges Institute and the National Land Information Service (NLIS). 148 representatives from Local Authority Local Land Charges teams across the country attended the Awards dinner.
Jan Boothroyd, Land Data’s Chief Executive, commented: “What really stood out across this year’s entries was the way in which Local Land Charges teams are thinking differently about offering value add to their customers, embracing technology and working with other departments to improve service and be more customer focused. This is no mean feat in an environment of constant budget cutting and resource challenges. All the entrants and nominees should be applauded for their efforts to their communities and Local Government.”
The 2019 Award winners are:
- Customer Satisfaction Award for Local Authority Searches – sponsored by the Coal Authority
Winner: Arun District Council and Highly commended: Reigate & Banstead Borough Council
- Most Improved NLIS Services – sponsored by Land Data
Winner: North Dorset District Council (part of the Dorset Councils Partnership) and Highly commended: Exeter City Council
Winner: Reigate & Banstead Borough Council and Highly commended: Arun District Council
Winner: City of York Council and Highly commended: Wakefield Metropolitan District Council
Winner: North Devon Council and Highly commended: London Borough of Bromley
- Best Customer Experience Award - sponsored by SearchFlow
Winner: Manchester City Council and Highly commended: Reigate & Banstead Borough Council
Winner: Pushpa Solanki, Bedford Borough Council and Highly commended: Sue Loft & Julie Wardle, East riding of Yorkshire Council
- The Digital Data Award – sponsored by Land Data
Winner: Dartford Borough Council and Highly commended: Blaby District Council
