Government release “Call for Evidence” Summary

10 April 2018

LA search response target to be set at 10 working days.

The Government released the summary of responses to the Call for Evidence on Sunday 8th April, alongside their Response and Plan of Action. Although the Government happily accept that LA searches “were not a significant source delay”, they are still keen to implement improvements. To this end, they intend to write to all authorities setting out their expectation that search responses should be made within 10 working days. In addition, they intend to take action against authorities if they fail to meet these expected performance levels although no further details on that front were provided.
