Local Land Charges Awards 2019

The annual Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence will be held on 4 March 2019. These are the only national awards to celebrate the work and achievements of local authority Local Land Charges departments which carry out the land and property searches required for conveyancing transactions in England and Wales.

A total of eight award categories will feature recognising customer satisfaction, best customer experience, the most improved NLIS service, best NLIS Local Land Charges department, the Unsung Hero, the Local Authority Searches Team of the Year and the Digital Award, which is a new category for 2019.  A winner and a highly commended for each category is chosen by a panel of judges from leading organisations in the conveyancing searches market.

Top tips for successful Award entries 

  • You can enter as many award categories as you wish and doing so increases your chance of being shortlisted or winning
  • Think carefully about your entry or nomination clearly stating why your team should be considered
  • Include evidence and supporting information to back up your entry
  • Feel free to send attachments to support your entry to awards@land-data.org.uk
  • “Yes” or “No” answers tend to score poorly and should be used sparingly - the more detail you give us the more the judges have to work on. Remember that some answers are weighted.
  • Don’t hold back in reaching out to your direct customers and asking them to nominate you for the Customer Satisfaction Award.  If you are proud of your service ask them to nominate you! Experience tells us that the LAs who provide excellent service and have proactively asked for nominations in the past have frequently made the shortlist.   • Keep your MyNLIS data up to date. We use imperical data to validate turnaround times and volume splits and while the NLIS Hub data is helpful, data submitted by MyNLIS gives a much wider picture.
