And that's a wrap!
The 2024 Local Land Charges annual Training & Development event in Derby saw speakers from across central and local government, and industry describe their part in modernising and digitising the searches sector to make moving home a better experience.
Delegates had a brilliant bird's eye view of work going on at a national level to improve the way land and property data is harnessed and deployed. Thank you to our keynote Emma Cooke at the National Trading Standards Estate & Letting Agency Team, Jamie Winch and Nick Boddington from HM Land Registry, Nick Chapallaz from GeoPlace, Giles Martin from Landmark Information Group, Diane Latter from The Law Society, Rob Steadman, SearchFlow and Claire Eagle from the Geospatial Commission.
With deep-dive training on highways adoption, building control and trees (TPOs, high hedges and everything in between!), there were also lots of practical tips to take home. Thank you to Elaine Munns, Shirley Crook Rebekah Giubarelli and Stuart Fyffe for sharing their expertise.
And last but not least, the potential impact of AI on the conveyancing and search industries was given a thorough examination in a panel debate with Diane Latter from the Law Society, Andrew Simpson from The Coal Authority and Rob Steadman from SearchFlow.
Attending the event was also a great way for delegates to:
- Share best-practice with peers
- Network and make new connections
- Boost morale within their team
- Celebrate the 2024 winners of our Excellence Awards
- Have fun!
This highly regarded conference is the only event of its kind to offer important training and development opportunities exclusively for Local Authority Local Land Charges personnel.
We hope to see you at the 2025 event!
