Marketing is a must for any company promoting its services. The Marketing Innovation Award was created to focus on what Local Land Charges departments have done in order to promote their services and recognises innovative ideas and outcomes.

Entrants were asked to demonstrate their methods of marketing as well as outline the results achieved and provide examples of marketing work carried out.

Customer Satisfaction Award for Local Authority Searches

Torridge District Council
The Customer Satisfaction Award for Local Authority Searches focuses on the level of service the Local Land Charges department offers to its local authority searches customers and whether they are happy with the service they are given.

Through the CLC and the Local Land Charges department’s own client list, conveyancers were asked to vote for the local authority that they felt provided excellent customer service.

The winner and finalists were chosen based on the number of votes that Land Data received on their behalf along with any ad hoc comments.

Hambleton District Council
The Most Improved Services Award recognises the Local Land Charges department that had made the most improvement in their service in order to create a better product.

The judging of this award was based on the following criteria:

% improvement in electronic turnaround time

City of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council
This award was created to give recognition to the best NLIS Local Land Charges department. The winner was chosen based on who had the best combined ranking in electronic turnaround times and lowest NLIS fees (CON29R and LLC1 combined searches) consistently throughout a 12 month period and this was determined by LAMS data from MyNLIS.

Congratulations to Wakefield who have won this award two years in a row.

The 2009 Special Tribute Award

Caroline Frankland, East Staffordshire Borough Council
The 2009 Special Tribute Award was created to give recognition to an individual that the Past LLCI Presidents felt had worked unselfishly and intuitively to encourage and support others within the Local Land Charges industry.

Once again, before deciding upon the recipient for this year’s award, the judging panel considered numerous candidates and their contributions to the field of Local Land Charges.

After a period of deliberation the judges have decided to present this year’s award to Caroline Frankland from East Staffordshire Borough Council. Caroline has taken a confident ‘head-on’ approach to the challenging issues of access to data and charging by introducing a range of new data products and fees ahead of the government deadline.

Determined not to sit back and do nothing, Caroline introduced a new fee regime at East Staffordshire and along with other local authority colleagues, tackled the complicated issues that run with access to data and fees.

The 2009 Special Tribute Award is therefore presented to Caroline in recognition of her dedication and the support she has shown to other Local Land Charge colleagues.
